TEAM
BRM are set to consolidate their winning pace from Eastern Creek
Raceway, and are ready to continue their charge for the 2004 Australian
Formula 3 championship as the series heads to Wakefield Park in
Goulburn this weekend.
A recent
test at the rural New South Wales circuit proved highly successful
for the Adelaide based team, as lead driver Karl Reindler lapped
the tight 2.2 Km circuit approximately half a second under the lap
record, proving that his pace at Eastern Creek was no fluke.
Team
owner Bronte Rundle said that the team is ready for the challenge
of keeping their championship contender in the hunt for the series.
“We are heading to Wakefield Park full of optimism that we
can get the job done as well as we did at Eastern Creek. There is
no reason why we can’t continue this good form.”

have done our homework, and we are ready for this round.”
Karl

The
two race wins at Eastern Creek saw Reindler jump into second in
the series, and close to within 12 points of the current championship
leader. The young West Australian competitor has experience at Wakefield
Park, having raced there in the same car last season. Karl goes
into the round confident of further closing the gap to the championship
leader.
“I
am very happy with the way testing went a few weeks ago, and I enjoy
driving at the track,” Said Reindler. “At this stage of
the championship we really need to keep our momentum up, and I am
confident that we can back up our results of the last round.”

Jordan (AMS Group / ROH / Wynn’s Dallara F398 Spiess Opel)
Nic
Jordan may be on a steep learning curve this year, but the 16-year-old
New Zealander stunned the establishment at Eastern Creek by placing
his Trophy Class Dallara onto the outright podium in the second
race. It was the first time a Trophy class competitor had ever stood
on the outright dais in over five years of Formula 3 racing in Australia.
“Nic
has had no problems adapting to tracks he has never seen before
this season, so we are confident he will be able to continue his
Trophy Class form.” commented team owner Bronte Rundle.

There will be some new signage on the side of the #19 Dallara this
weekend, as Karl Reindler welcomes AON insurance as a sponsor for
the rest of the season. Reindler was awarded the sponsorship after
successfully achieving the CAMS / AON Insurance Rising Star Scholarship
recently. AON Insurance joins National Tyres, UTS Geophysics and
team sponsor ACE Embroidery on the side of the #19 car.

Former European F3000 ace Ananda Mikola has joined Team BRM Asia
for the next two rounds of the 2004 Asian F3 championship. Team
Engineers Mark and Craig Rundle fly out immediately after the Wakefield
round to head to Beijing, China for the 5th and 6th rounds of the
developing Asian Series.

Also flying out straight after Wakefield will be Technical Director
Ian Richards, who will accompany Karl Reindler as he heads to the
United Kingdom for a two week trip to take in the British F3 scene,
as well as a two day test with top British outfit Carlin Motorsport.
